Tribute to Voldemort

Say what?

Yeah, this is totally not what I usually post about, but Kat wanted me to write this particular parody, so what better place to put it than on my blog.

Sung to the tune Abracadabra by the Steve Miller Band

I came back, I’m here to stay
There is no one to get in my way
Tom Riddle is who I was
Death Eaters fight for my cause

Every time you say my name
I’ll find you and give you pain
Burnin’ pain, the crucio curse
I know spells that are far, far worse

Ava’ Ava’ Kedavra
I’ll take my wand out and zap ya
Ava’ Ava’ Kedavra
Avada Kedavra

I get around cause I can fly
I’ll find you and make you cry
If you think you can get away
Imperio curse will make you stay

Ava’ Ava’ Kedavra
I’ll take my wand out and zap ya
Ava’ Ava’ Kedavra
Avada Kedavra

I’ve got no nose, it’s hard to breathe
It’s really painful when I sneeze
These horcruxes have torn me apart
That goes along with my black heart

Pure blood magic is the way to go
Muggle born should be killed you know
No matter how much they will fight
I will be here to make things right

Ava’ Ava’ Kedavra
I’ll take my wand out and zap ya
Ava’ Ava’ Kedavra
Avada Kedavra

Harry Potter is a big pain
I get mad when I hear his name
He will be found, it’s my greatest desire
I’ll kill him off with a big ball of fire

Time is up, we’ll find Harry
Potter’s killing is my destiny
Time is up, we’ll find Harry
Potter’s killing is my destiny
Time is up, we’ll find Harry
Potter’s killing is my destiny

Thank you, Mrs Destructo

Sung to the tune of Mr. Roboto by Styx

You’re wondering who she is
(Secret, secret, she’s got a secret)
And how she got through this
(Secret, secret, she’s got a secret)
The trailer’s now in bits
(Secret, secret, she’s got a secret)
Oh man, she never quits!

She’s got a secret, she’s been hiding deep in her mind
She pulls out tools, and start’s a swingin’, when she’s so inclined
So if you see her swing a hammer, don’t be surprised
She’s just a girl who worked on the trailer to have it revised

To keep us alive, just keep us alive
Have it revised to keep us alive

She’s got a talent removing structures, she works to transform
She’s come to help us with our trailer, so we can be warm
She’s not a slacker, with odd behaviour, forget what you know
She’s just a girl who wanted shielding from the ice and the snow

The ice and the snow, we don’t like the cold
When it get’s cold, there’s ice and there’s snow

She is an awesome girl
(Secret, secret, she’s got a secret)
With tools that she does twirl
(Secret, secret, she’s got a secret)
So we can finally
(Secret, secret, she’s got a secret)
Live warm and happily!

Domo Arigato, Mrs. Destructo
Domo, Domo. Domo, Domo.
Domo Arigato, Mrs. Destructo
Domo, Domo. Domo, Domo.

Domo Arigato, Mrs. Destructo
Domo Arigato, Mrs. Destructo
Domo Arigato, Mrs. Destructo
Domo Arigato, Mrs. Destructo

Thank you very much, Mrs. Destructo
For stripping the trailer to have it foam sprayed
And thank you very much, Mrs. Destructo
For doing this big task, and now you’ve got it made

Thank you, thank you, thank you
I want to thank you
Please, thank you, oh

The problem’s plain to see
It’s moist with bad fungi
Spray foam will save our lives
Spray foam, will sanitize

The time has come at last
(Secret, secret, she’s got a secret)
Before this fall has passed
(Secret, secret, she’s got a secret)
Now everyone can see
(Secret, secret, she’s got a secret)
How warm that it can be

In the trailer, trailer, trailer, trailer

In case you missed it, Kat has been ripping out the other end of our trailer in anticipation of having it spray foamed like we did the first part last year. She did it all by herself whilst I was working on other things (like killing all of the AC electricity in the trailer, but we won’t go into that).

Thanks Kat, you’re the best 😀

Happy Valentines Day, Kat

Sung to the tune of Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong

I see eyes of green, sunglasses too
A wide brimmed hat and hair of blue
And I think to myself
What a wonderful girl.

KatGreenEyes&Hat

KatBlueHair

I see a dress of blue, red hats with white
I see her smile, both day and night
And I think to myself
What a wonderful girl.

KatBlueDress

KatTuque

The love we share together, so shiny in her eyes
We will keep on loving as the years just go on by
Sometimes she takes my hand, there’s nothing else to do
I know she’s saying, “I love you.”

Kat&Dave

As the time passes by, our love will grow
Like flowers from, the seeds that we sow
And I think to myself
What a wonderful girl.

KatPerfectSmile

And I tell you all now
She’s a wonderful girl..

Oh Yeah

Birds, birds, birds

Sung to the tune of Motley Crue‘s Girls, Girls, Girls

Small feet, quick to tweet
Pecking at seed for you to eat
All day long, ya just can’t be beat
And the way you sound is really neat

Birds, birds, birds
In the trees that surround our small house
Birds, birds, birds
Dark eyed juncos and a ruffled grouse
Birds, birds, birds
Some are alone, some with their spouse

Yup, we’ve got birds. Lots of ’em. Some of them just dropped in for a while and then headed out again, and others seem to have arrived for the duration of the warmer weather. During the winter we had downy and hairy woodpeckers, chickadees, nut hatches and blue jays. Here are a list of birds we have seen and managed to identify that have come through:

Common redpoll

Dark-eyed junco

Common grackle

Rose-breasted Grosbeak

Evening Grosbeak

White-throated sparrow

Purple finch (dumb name, cause it’s red)

Pileated woodpecker

Ruffed grouse

Common Pheasant

Northern Flicker

American Robin

Mourning Dove

With the warmer weather, the bird populations have just exploded. Not to mention a lot of them really enjoy our bird feeder. Those were just the birds we’ve seen and identified. There are a few that we have only heard, and that takes a bit of doing to find out who is doing all that singing. One bird in particular is this one:

Wood Thrush

I don’t know that I have ever seen one, or if I have, it has been difficult to recognize. However, its song is amazing. It always reminds me of the wilderness, camping, being up at the cottage and just general awesome nature. I have heard this bird all of my life, but I can’t say for sure if I have ever seen it. Weird, huh?

Interestingly enough, wikipedia had some interesting things to say about their song as well.

The song of the male is often cited as being the most beautiful in North America.

I would totally agree with that. If you do a bit of searching, I’m sure you’ll find somewhere that has a recording of it. Sounds experts often site birdsong as the most soothing and that we should all listen to some everyday to help deal with all of the other noise pollution in our lives. Luckily for us, we live in it.

Can’t beat that 🙂
